Turbo Tuning / Re: war chip launch control

enabled with a click means that you simply go to the launch control page, and choose if it's activated or deactivated with a simple click.

once activated you can set the RPM to the value that you want.
you will need to give it a few runs to find out what RPM that you want to hold that will give you the best launch. mine is set at 3500 for example.

General Discussion / Re: Will the War chip work on a euro spec M3 E30??
« on: January 17, 2014, 03:41:13 AM »
i don't see why it won't work if you install the chip into the correct ECU that matches the correct setup.

i don't think there's a difference between US and Euro engines for the 1988 M3, but i could be wrong.

Naturally Aspirated Tuning / Help me fix my AFR
« on: January 15, 2014, 05:00:40 PM »
Hello guys,

I had my car dyno tested last night to check how much power it's making.
came out with some nice numbers (203 WHP, 259 WTQ), but i was surprised by the AFR curve and the huge torque drop !!!
please check the attached picture to see the curves.
can anyone help me make them smoother and better?
attached also is the tune i used, which is the unmodified miller performance tune.

my car does not have an oxygen sensor installed (long story)
block and head are m50, rotating assembly is m52 2.8L
original Alpina headers.
stock m50 injectors rated at #17

please let me know if you required additional information.

I would appreciate all the help i can get for this matter.

Launch control is offered for the 413 & 506 ECUs only because they have a vehicle speed sensor (VSS) which is needed to enable the launch control feature.

Enabling and controlling this feature is very easy:
1. enable the feature with a click
2. setting the desired RPM to hold when launching.

here's a video to give you an idea on how it looks like:

let me know if I can help more :)

thanks a lot for the provided information :)
would i benefit a lot of using this combination of M54b30 cam with the M50NV intake cam?
if yes then what is the approximate numbers for such an addition to the engine over the stock cams?

Naturally Aspirated Tuning / Re: which tune to use, M50 or M52?
« on: December 23, 2013, 03:37:35 PM »
Thanks for your input buddy, nice to see the S50 pushing close to 300 WHP, impressive numbers i'd say.

how can I squeeze the max out of my 2.8 stroked M50 engine?
what tune is the best to use? keeping in mind that i'm not planning on dyno tuning it just yet.
my engine is basically an M50 engine with 2.8 crank and rods, and 2.5 pistons from my old vanos engine, which are 1mm higher than the 2.8 pistons providing higher compression.
other mods are ALPINA headers, and lightened flywheel

which tune from the tunes published should i use? do you have a more suitable tune for me than the ones published?

your feedback on how to squeeze out the most HP & TQ out of this engine is most appreciated.

Thanks a lot for the numbers, been looking for those figures for some time.

as for the trays for the m54 cam, i wonder if you should change the trays and lifters to M52 in order to accomodate the m54 intake cam.

so if i wanna do the cam mixture of M54 intake cam, and M50NV exhaust cam... does this mean that i need to have m52 tray for the m54 intake cam, and m50 tray for the m50NV exhaust cam?

i've received my chip a couple of days ago and been playing with it ever since, loving how easy and friendly it is, and looooooving the launch control feature :D

i'm just wondering if i will get more power if i switch from the 3" MAF to the 3.5 MAF with the pink injectors. maybe Brody can help us with this matter.

I would love and appreciate more information about this combination of camshafts in a M50 engine

dd you try both tunes? i mean:
1. m50 tune, with stock m50 injectors and 3" maf?
then went to use:
2. M52 tune, with 21# injectors and 3.5" maf?

if you tried both of them, did you notice any difference in performance?

WAR Software Support / Re: Windows 7 and the WAR Chip
« on: November 30, 2013, 10:39:31 AM »
is it possible to download the war software without having the chip connected to the PC?
i'm waiting for my chip to arrive and been trying to install the software to my VMware version of XP pro but no use, whenever i click on the file that is named: THIS_RUNS_WIZARD all it does is open the java folder in the windows folder C:\WINDOWS\java

is there something wrong or this is a normal case due to the WAR chip not being connected to the PC?

Naturally Aspirated Tuning / which tune to use, M50 or M52?
« on: November 25, 2013, 01:56:38 PM »
Hello guys,

I am in the process of rebuilding my M50 engine and will finish rebuilding in a couple of days.
I bought a war chip of a friend and waiting for it to arrive.

my question is, i'm rebuilding my M50 engine with the m52 2.8L rotating assembly instead of the m50 2.5L assembly.
everything else is basically m50. so in such a case do i use the m50 tunes or m52 tunes?
i realize that if i go for the m52 tunes i will need to get pink injectors and 3.5 MAF
can you please advise what is the best for my case?
