WAR Software Support / Re: no start issues
« on: July 20, 2014, 06:45:57 AM »
Hey buddy,

nice build you got there.
i would like to ask if the engine was running before using the WAR chip or it was just rebuilt and used with the WAR chip right after rebuilding.

was it running with another chip/ECU ? cause i would suggest and try to figure our if the problem is because of the WAR chip or some other mechanical issue.

i could suggest trying another ECU / chip to determine where the problem is.

i will assume that you are currently using the m50 tune with s50 cams.
that tune is not intended for use with the 3.5 MAF, so try switching to the original 3" MAF, I believe that will solve your issues.
if you plan on keeping the 3.5 MAF then you will need a custom tune on a dyno.

WAR Software Support / Re: Windows 7 and the WAR Chip
« on: June 29, 2014, 01:54:07 AM »
hey guys,

any update on the new software?
microsoft dropped all support related to windows XP and it became absolute.
plus the current software is really annoying with the matter of tune position switching each time we write to the chip.

will we have the option of tuning the car and writing to the chip without switching the car off each time we write to the chip ?

i've also noticed some glitches when turning the launch control option on and off.

is there a beta edition for windows 7, or an expected time of providing us with the new software ?

Naturally Aspirated Tuning / Best tune for this setup

I bought a WAR chip for my friend, he just rebuilt his engine and i'm wondering what's the best tune for his setup from the already available tunes, or if someone has a tune for something very similar to this setup.

his setup is as follows:
M50 block and head with s52 cams
M54 3.0 crank, rods and pistons
3.5" MAF from a 540 engine
21.5 injectors
euro s50b30 headers
M50 manifold
walbro fuel pump

any help would be appreciated :)

do you have the tune or not buddy?
if you do then it's easy as 1 2 3, if not then you need to either obtain a tune from someone with a similar setup, or take your car and get it dyno'ed in order to get all of the possible power out of your stroker engine.

Don't shoot me guys, the software is almost ready. Things just move slower than we would like with GUI development.

that's awesome news buddy.
any expected date for release?

i would suggest contacting the guys at miller directly in order to get the best service in the shortest time possible

good luck with that and i hope you get the chance to participate in the Autox

from my very humble experience... NA tunes are not healthy for Turbo engines, as the NA tunes advance the timing to get the power, while turbo tunes retard the timing to get the power and safety to the engine.

i could be wrong and would appreciate it if someone can confirm or deny what i just mentioned above.

since you're saying that launch control is not working that means that you're running either 413 or 506 ECU.
did you follow the instructions on how to enable launch control mode?
please provide us with more details in order to be of more help.
please take screenshots of the launch control and RPM limit pages if possible.

87 octane tune will work on your car very safely, but there is more potential to your car with the 98 octane you are using.
in order to get the best result of the fuel you're getting i would suggest you take your car to the dyno to squeeze every last bit of power you can using the octane you're running.

I have talked to people from AEM and Innovate, and they told me that the wideband sensor works at 0-5v signal, while the O2 sensor is 0-1v signal, so i can't use the wideband to replace the O2 sensor as it will give false readings.

i will stick to setting up the 2 sensors together, one for the CPU in order to do the compensation of the fuel once the CPU detects anything wrong, and one for my eyes to keep my attention if anything wrong happens that the CPU can't handle.

I hope my experience benefits other people.
