THANKS A LOT!!!  :D

That was the solution for the problem.

It is not only using a US XP, it is also using the US Formats for comma and point! German numbers have a different format...

Yes, in the "0" cells is written "0,00" what is not usable for your software, it must be "0.00"

And this is also the difference between a 153 ECU file and a 173 ECU file.
In the 153 ECU File the cells are filled with integer numbers like "25".
In the 173 ECU File the cells are filled wit number like "4.25"

This was also the problem when i filled the 173 test file with the ignition tables of the 153 ECU. Filled with integer numbers it worked for a while, but restarting with german XP numbers formats it killed the data set.

OK, PROBLEM SOLVED!  ;D  ;D  ;D

Update: i used the 173 ecu stock file, opened the file, all ignition tables are 0.

I filled the tables with values making sense and saved the file. I could work with the file, editing, switching, copying... i filled the 173 file with the data of a 153 file so all tables were filled with data... saved it complete...

... closed the application and reopened the file again and .... the tables were empty again, completly filled with 0 again!

so there is a bug killing data!

I have exactly the same problem.

All tunes for the 173 and 179 ecu have ignition tables completely filled with 0. Just ignition (idle, P/T and WOT), all other tables are OK and make sense.

I'm using a P4 Laptop with a original US Windows XP and Java 7.76... since the warchip software does not work with a german XP.

The computer works perfect for the ecu 153, all tables are OK including ignition.

Problem solved.

"Miller War Chip" does not work with foreign XP Versions like the german XP.

I changed and installed the US XP Version on the Laptop and everything is fine  :)

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\wc
The Directory exists also in german, but called: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Administrator\WC
It is not empty, the downloaded packages are in this Directory. War Chip.msi and the 4 mpc files and the ecu file.

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\mpc\Miller War Chip
This Directory is called in german:
c:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Administrator\Anwendungsdaten
The Directory MPC and Miller War Chip are missing.
I have made these directories manually.

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\ecu
The directory ECU is missing. I have made it manually.

But still no effect, nothing else happens.

Update 24.Jan 2015:
Used a complete different Computer. P4 Laptop with brandnew harddisk. Installed complete new a Windows XP SP2 System (German). Installed Java Version 7 Update 76 (Build 1.7.0_76-b13)

Chip is recognized, installs MillerWarchip.exe and the 4 files for my ecu and finishes like it should. Up to here it looks good.

Starting MillerWarchip.exe DOES still not work. In the Task Manager is for one second Millerwarchip, then it disappears. Nothing else happens.

WHAT MORE CAN I DO??? New Computer, NEW installed XP, Internet working, the latest JAVA... WHAT ELSE????

7
I got the same error message.

After the update of JAVA to version 7 update 17 the error message is gone... but nothing else happens. No windows opens, absolutly nothing...
An update to JAVA 8 is not possible, there is a newer windows version required than XP.

Update: Java 7 update 71, the latest version installed. Still no reaction. There is no possibility to start "war chip". Even in the task manager no reaction.

8.12.14 Update: Still not working with XP. But: tried Java 7 update 71 on a Windows 7 pc. The chip is not really recognized, but downloading  2.2.3 at least starts and makes a stop around 90%, but it does not finish.
"MillerWarChip" starts and opens the downloaded 4 files, some Inputs are possible, even the upload to the chip is starting, but does not finish. Surprising, that the System works in some parts on a Windows 7 PC.

=> the problem has something to do with the Java System on the XP PC.
