I managed to fix it by Manually adding an ECU and inserting the tunes from a directory.
1. Start the Miller W.A.R Chip software you got after installing the wizard.(if lost you can get it from here. http://www.millerperformancecars.com/customer99/wiz/)
2. Find your C:\Documents and Settings\"Computer username"\WC
3. Press tools in the tab of your War Chip software then press Add ECU Type. Then open the ecu file from the WC directory.
4. After that press your first tune tab, then open your tune from the WC directory. then the second and so on.
5. Now you can write your tunes to the Miller chip.(It might want you to select a default tune to do that you can either select a tune then go to tools and then press "Set as default Tune" or you can press CTRL+D.

Hi, I just bought a used W.A.R Chip.
He showed me on his computer how it worked and everything was fine, but after i choose what tunes to download I continue with installing the wizard and when that is done nothing happens.(I can choose to open the software after installation but doesn't help.)
Is there a way I can manually upload etc.?
I have also tried to download all of the tunes for my ecu online and tried to open with the software but there isn't any values. Also i can't write with all of the tabs chosen to be one of the tunes.
What am I doing wrong? followed the manual as it says but still. No upload happening..

Hi all. I'm running a maf with war chip and am having some issues. It's on a 173 DME and I'm running the 14 lb with higher idle tune. I have a check engine light with code 1215 for the afm, and when I rev the engine the idle will drop below 500 and almost stall the car before returning back to 720. Sometimes the car will stall when the idle drops but it will start back up just fine.

I followed the troubleshooting guide and got 12 volts between pins 3 and 4, but only .4 volts between 2 and 4, with no change when the car idles. I removed the maf and cleaned the connections and I now get the correct voltage numbers in the guide, but still no change in the issue I'm having.

Any other help us much appreciated!

Thanks, I bought the full Turbo miller package kit from a friend of mine who never use it, but i had a little accident with the maf sensor (got run over by the same car) so now I'm using a pro-racing mass air sensor good for 800hp

I know this is an old thread, but it is important to note, if you are using the PSIK you must use a PSIK tune as the GEN 3 MAF and PSIK use different sensors. The PSIK 19# tune will be a good starting point for the stroker applications.

Hello. I'm new here with a WAR chip and I'm looking for a base tune for this car

1995 M3 with original S50 with EWS delete (I think 413 silver label ECU)

3.5" MAF
21.5lbs/hr pink injectors (from 96-99 M3)
Stromung catback
stock S50 (original) cams

Please let me know if you can help me find such a base tune before I take it to a dyno to finalize it

 :)
thanks!

It works now.
Thank you Brody!

The problem was the anti virus software (AVG), it was obviously blocking the attempt to write onto the chip. After I have disabled the anti virus software it worked fine.

Happy now  ;D

Hello,

recently purchased the WAR chip. Finally got around to install the software, everything works.

Now I wanted to write my tunes onto the WAR chip.
But after I click on "write" nothing happens, absolutely nothing.
The WAR chip is ready (as in the bottom right corner), the computer does not hang up... it just doesn't do anything.

I have read in another thread to format the chip, which I did. But still nothing.

Does the chip have to be installed in the ECU to work? Because it is still sitting in the box plugged in as I wanted to write the first tunes on it before I install it.

Any ideas? :-(

Edit: I am using WinXP Professional (not Virtual Machine) with the 7.17 Java version.

I will share my base tune file after I get the data logger running.  My current tune is based off of AEM gage readings and a bit of guess work, it is very drivable, but getting data will help dial it in.

Please feel free to share.  I am installing a data logger (as time permits) and will hopefully have some actual data to share in the future. The engine is stock, no mod other than the MAF and chip so the results should indicate performance due to the conversion.  Unfortunately I will not have baseline data as I just acquired the logger.
I tried to attach a photo of the install however the file size was too large. I did send a photo in e-mail to Brody.
