Blow Through MAF Trouble shooting
« on: September 05, 2013, 02:04:56 PM »

There is not a trouble shooting guide for the Blow through turbo MAFs included in our turbo tuning packages, so I thought I would post the voltage specs to look for if you are trouble shooting your car.

Pin 2- GREY YELLOW
-key in the on position engine off - 0.01v

-engine idling - 0.7v approx (will vary based on idle speed)

If these voltages are within spec the sensor is likely not causing your problem.

Pin 3- RED WHITE

-This is your 12v power supply. If you do not have 12v with your key in the on position then you most likely have a problem with your wiring harness

So I'm only getting .4V at idle and reving only seen 1.6v

Car is idling all the way rich and is blipping at partial throttle.  No tuning adjustments are making any difference.  Bad MAF?  Can I get another one?  It is the Miller Blo-Thru MAF in the M5X/S5X turbo tuning kit.

Thanks!

What base tune are you using? .4 volts would be leaner not richer if in fact that was an accurate reading. The higher the voltage the more fuel the ecu would be calling for. If tuning adjustments are not making a difference I am curious if you are even using the turbo base tune.

We are using a custom tune on the warchip that was built by Nick at Mac Autosport (this used to be his car).  The tune had been working on the car perfectly before all of this happened.  I think he has reached out to you guys on this as we are both stumped.

Looks like it is running lean on cold starts but shouldn't there be more voltage at idle?

Side note: we have replaced o2, coolant temp sensor and swapped dme's

Here is a warm idle from before with the MAF voltages we were seeing when it was lower.

Ok guys...  I have litterally done everything, it must be a tuning issue so i need your help.

Whats been done:
1. New MAF/o2/coolat temp/fuel pressure regulator
2. Replaced ICV hoses and epoxied in plug of s50 manifold
3. smoke/uv test - 0 leaks anywhere
4. Charge pipe redone to allow for 6+ in. of 3" strait pipe before MAF.
5. Swapped DME's

So after all that we are still getting only .5X v at idle and it is idling at 10.0 afr.  Only code being thrown is a 1222.  What else can we do to fix the idle?  I'm seriously lost now and out of ideas. PLEASE HELP!

What is the O2 sensor voltage doing? Is it just rich at idle? What is AFR at full throttle and partial throttle?
