Title: E30S50 turbo help
Post by: jpichu on February 23, 2015, 11:53:34 PM
Hey I'm hopping to get some advice on my built, so far I got drift a m50 on my e30 chassis as we all know u need more power to keep up guyswith the LS's motors out there, so I decided to get a s50 turbo, my question to this is

1-The motor is stock at this point, I need to do my head gasket but I'm not sure what thickness to get or do I need to wait for the machine shop to see how flat is the head (never done any hg) what do you guys recommend?
2-so is it normal for the a miller turbo kit to cut off around 3-4k rpm?

So far I'm put everything together to test the car and this what I have now

Hi there, Car looks great!

That is not the Miller turbo tuning package MAF. Did you buy the whole kit or piece it together? The tune should not cut off at any RPM unless you set the RPM limit to something low like 4K.

Thanks, I bought the full Turbo miller package kit from a friend of mine who never use it, but i had a little accident with the maf sensor (got run over by the same car) so now I'm using a pro-racing mass air sensor good for 800hp

just a heads up, if you run into strange tuning issues with that MAF there is nothing that can be done. It WILL have a completely different out put curve and that absolutely matters to making sure the tune is solid and problem free. There won't be much support we can offer since we don't have an air flow table written for that sensor and we cannot do it remotely. Just a FYI if you run into anything that you cant seem to sort out tune wise.

True can I purchase the maf sensor from you guys then?, I figure out the issues with my rev cutting at some RPM's, it was throttle sensor, and I'm almost ready to  get this thing to the Dino, but it make more sense about having the right maf, please just let me know. Thanks

car is sounding really good man, nicely done.
i'm concerned about the AFR reading i see on the AFR gauge, you're running very lean on fuel so be careful.

Yes it needs more tuning,  that was just the base tune, I hope I can find someone locally for that soon
