Title: Tuning Fuel- How much should I add/ subtract?
Post by: WAR cadet on September 17, 2013, 02:07:46 PM
I thought I would make a post to clarify a very common question.

How much do I need to add / subtract to make ____ change?

As a general rule of thumb, 10 points up or down is equal to 1 Air Fuel Ratio.

This is true if

-you are using the map with the intended setup
-you are using the intended injector size
-the O2 sensor is off while you are testing and tuning.

Things to remember while adjusting fuel

-If the O2 is on while you are doing this, you will have inconsistent results.
-Increased injector size may change how many points you must change to see a result.

Thanks for clearing that up, a lot of people have this wardship and don't know where to begin has far as tuning is concerned. It took me a lot of trial and errors to figure out how to tune this software.

 hey guys ,
i also have alot of trial and error with the tuning thus far and was wondering if i actually need to turn the o2 back on after tuning? i am really only building this e30 to be a race car and is rarely used on the street. m52 bottom end converted to obd1 with m50 head, s50 cams , the turbo tunning package and twinscroll t4 borg warner s300sx turbo. i am getting a little frustrated with how the car is driving when cold and after a hot soak. the car runs over 18 afr at idle . im way down in south florida so idk if the heat/humidity plays such a dramatic role like that. any help is appreciated
