Naturally Aspirated Tuning / Best tune for this setup
« on: June 28, 2014, 11:36:33 AM »
I bought a WAR chip for my friend, he just rebuilt his engine and i'm wondering what's the best tune for his setup from the already available tunes, or if someone has a tune for something very similar to this setup.

his setup is as follows:
M50 block and head with s52 cams
M54 3.0 crank, rods and pistons
3.5" MAF from a 540 engine
21.5 injectors
euro s50b30 headers
M50 manifold
walbro fuel pump

any help would be appreciated :)

Naturally Aspirated Tuning / HELP: Oxygen sensor + AFR gauges question
« on: March 10, 2014, 05:00:49 PM »
Hey guys,

my oxygen sensor is shot, so i want to get a new one. at the same time i want to get an AFR gauge as i'm going supercharged very soon.
i have my eyes on the AEM kit, with model number (30-4100) which says that has options such as (which i think are the ones i need):

Includes Bosch 4.2 sensor for optimum accuracy and reliability
0-5v analog output included for use with data loggers and virtually any engine management system
0-5v analog output Gasoline values from 10 to 20:1 AFR

so my question is: if i get the AEM kit, will it eliminate the need for a separate oxygen sensor, or do i need to get both the oxygen sensor and the AEM kit and mount both of them?

my car is a 2.8 stroked M50 engine running a 413 DME with a W.A.R chip.

your input on this issue is highly appreciated

Naturally Aspirated Tuning / Do I turn my O2 sensor off?
« on: February 06, 2014, 09:41:09 AM »
well, long story short: i don't have an O2 sensor in my car, but the plug exists in the harness.
would it be causing problems to my AFR when the sensor is on but not existing?

would turning the O2 sensor off cause any problems? i'm not looking for good MPG on the highway, just excellent performance on the highway... so please help me with that.

Naturally Aspirated Tuning / Help me fix my AFR
« on: January 15, 2014, 05:00:40 PM »
Hello guys,

I had my car dyno tested last night to check how much power it's making.
came out with some nice numbers (203 WHP, 259 WTQ), but i was surprised by the AFR curve and the huge torque drop !!!
please check the attached picture to see the curves.
can anyone help me make them smoother and better?
attached also is the tune i used, which is the unmodified miller performance tune.

my car does not have an oxygen sensor installed (long story)
block and head are m50, rotating assembly is m52 2.8L
original Alpina headers.
stock m50 injectors rated at #17

please let me know if you required additional information.

I would appreciate all the help i can get for this matter.

Naturally Aspirated Tuning / which tune to use, M50 or M52?
« on: November 25, 2013, 01:56:38 PM »
Hello guys,

I am in the process of rebuilding my M50 engine and will finish rebuilding in a couple of days.
I bought a war chip of a friend and waiting for it to arrive.

my question is, i'm rebuilding my M50 engine with the m52 2.8L rotating assembly instead of the m50 2.5L assembly.
everything else is basically m50. so in such a case do i use the m50 tunes or m52 tunes?
i realize that if i go for the m52 tunes i will need to get pink injectors and 3.5 MAF
can you please advise what is the best for my case?
