Turbo Tuning / Re: which map? hp, torque,pt or accel enrichment
« on: November 11, 2013, 06:34:22 PM »
You need to work both maps individually one at a time. Force it to keep VANOS off, get the fuel where you want it, everywhere, then do the same for VANOS on. What is happening at those RPMs?

No, that is only for the Switch style TPS's found on M20 and M30 cars. The E36 uses a sweeping 0 - 5v TPS

Uninstall the WAR Chip program and simply run through the wizard again to get the latest version.

We don't have a super solid V3 date set yet. It is one of those things we chip away at as we have time and money to do so.

WAR Software Support / Re: O2 Sensor On/Off, Wideband O2, & Data Logger ?s
« on: November 08, 2013, 10:41:00 AM »
Tell us a bit about your setup so I can give you some better insight.

The O2 sensor simply tries to target 14.7:1 and the way the narrowband works is it simply oscillates back and forth past 14.7. So Rich, Lean, Rich, Lean, like that with 14.7:1 being in the middle of that swing.

The stock ECU cannot understand a wideband signal. Leaving the O2 sensor in one bank is just fine.

Naturally Aspirated Tuning / Re: M20b25 Tune injectors
« on: October 28, 2013, 09:07:39 PM »
using bigger injectors only makes a difference when more fuel is needed. Check out this article we wrote to help explain,

https://www.millerperformancecars.com/component/content/article/9-uncategorised/113-thirst-of-power

That being said, we only offer software for stock 14# injectors and the 19# injectors as far as naturally aspirated M20 stuff is concerned.

The grey white wire provides 5v power to the AFM in stock form. When you cut it, you are splicing the portion going out to the engine bay into Pin 37 to provide the MAF with 12v power. The portion of pin 12 that is shorter and going to the ECU just needs to be capped off.

Where can I re-download the WAR tuning program from?

If you need to run the wizard again, please follow this link:

You can download tunes from this forum in the WAR Cache.

No, it should take 1 SOMETIMES 2 minutes tops. I don't know what the specs are for you laptop, but it is definitely struggling to write.

General Discussion / Re: Changing Tunes
« on: October 21, 2013, 05:39:52 PM »
It can be ON while changing tunes. Depending on what the ECU is reading at the time the car MAY stumble. However, it is definitely capable of changing tunes while the car is running.

Turbo Tuning / Re: E30 325 turbo tuning help

Correct, O2 sensor off during tuning. The BOV will create a rich condition between shifts and possibly decel as metered air will be escaping the system and the ECU has no way to know this.

The WAR Chip program should not have issues with the values entering properly, HOWEVER, if you do experience it, the up and down arrows always work as designed. If you need to make big changes, you can enter a value in the box beside the purple buttons and each "click" will increase the cell(s) by that amount instead of 1 increment at a time.

I will host this in the WAR Room section for the appropriate ECU instead of here. It is more secure in terms of hackers trying to attack and modify the file.

Also, can I have your name to attach to the file. Is this Ian by chance?

Turbo Tuning / Re: E85 tuning

I saw and responded to your emails. We are away for the Canadian Thanks-giving holiday. As per our previous emails did you monitor the MAF voltage when this cut out was happening? I know you are running twins and they may be drawing more air past the MAF. The power I think you are making, you MAY be getting close to the voltage limit for the sensor simply because of the twins drawing more air through the sensor. There is an easy solution if that is the case.

Turbo Tuning / Re: E30 325 turbo tuning help

Few basic questions...

Did you install the MAF as per the wiring instructions? Usually when the MAF is not installed properly the car will idle and work at WOT but be terrible at part throttle.

Is it in front of the turbo (on the intake or suction side) or on the pressure side of the system?

Did you cut the Brown/Black wire on the TPS to disable WOT?

Do you have a blow off valve or a recirculating valve?

How far away is your O2 sensor from the turbine outlet AND how big if you exhaust?

As per your RPM limit issue, how are you adjusting it? With the up and down buttons in the top right of the software? If you type a value that does not work (simply because of the math used in converting the RPM to a real world value) it COULD be causing it to go to 12800. But it should be rounding to the nearest possible value.

Also, your screen shots don't show the entire map, you are missing some RPM and higher load cells. If you are using a small ePC, this could be a problem with the screen resolution. Our Version 3 software is right around the corner and will fix that.
